“ Know thyself, “ – SOCRATES
It means to understand one’s self. Know thyself is not just two words but it is a motivating quotation by Socrates who gave it to the world to tell everyone how important it is to introspect. Not just Socrates there are many great personalities raised their voice to let the society know about the significance of knowing one’s self. One among them Aristotle says, knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom. As said by knowing yourself is the beginning of all the wisdom, it means self-knowledge is the main object that is certainly important to attain anything great in our life race.
Everything in our life begins with us. Hence it is the first step to know ourselves, You should know yourself fully inside and out to gain positive results in every work we do. Most of us think they wholly know themselves. Are you one of them? Okay, that is cool if you know who you are. We can appreciate it. But nearly many people who think they know about themselves but don’t! some people who know about them moderately and some also who are finding ways to know better about themselves. There are many ways to know yourself. Some of them are here for you :
Question yourself: Yes! Question your mind to answer various thoughtful questions like what is your life ambition? How do you want to be recognized by anyone? How do make yourself happy? etc. Let your inner voice answer the questions and listen to it.
Explore your talents: Everyone has hidden talents in them. They only come out when we dig them out. Some will have a talent for doing craftwork, some can study well, some can sketch, some can study nonstop, some can remember things for quite long, etc. Talents are not just related to arts or studies but also things akin to the physique.
Get to know your goals and strengths: Everyone has a goal. Know yours. Concentrate on the things you like to spend on and also on the things which boots your energy to work upon a particular thing. When you are aware of your strengths you can accomplish your jobs and duties with confidence.
Give importance to your values and needs: Respect your values. Bind for them where ever you go whatever you do. Being selfish is completely different from being self-important. You should not get diverted from your priorities. Work for the things that give you joy and self-satisfaction.
It is not that matters how much self-knowledge you have gained, but how contentedly you are capable of being accepted who you are. You are always special and different from everyone. You are unique and irreplaceable. Never compare yourself with others. Once you are aware of accepting you as YOU, you will be able to know your out-and-out strengths and then you have got succeed. Be proud enough to portray yourself as you. Go ahead! Search for THE GENUINE YOU in you. Once you found, just accept 🙂
