A rootless juvenile
In an obscure place,
Among the anonymous faces
Leading wistful days.
Unexplored lane and unfamiliar ways
An alien language that carry away
The suppressed word that
She had to say.
Waiting for months to pass
She stares at the timepiece,
The calendar and the bag-pack,
But her horrifying nights don’t cease.
All she cared about was time,
Since she was told,
Struggling for a bright future
Is no crime,
While her book shelf
Was thickening with grime.
After meeting a charming being
Every night through window
She kept seeing,
Alongside her poetry sheets kept ageing.
Finally she felt snug in his arm
He could promise her no harm.
But on the desk the timepiece
stood equally strong,
Reminding her of the home
Where she belong.
Alas, at ten when he got
A canine treasure,
She felt an elation,
Nobody could measure.
An overzealous and curious
Agile little fellow,
With Large ears, wagging tail
Had a skin so mellow.
Pale grey coated with darker splotches
Short and single layered hair
Looked skinny and wounded, given no care
A blue eyed soul
Seemed tortured as a whole.
A huger head collated to his body
A noble persona with floppy cheeks
Invaded my heart with strong footprints.
The four legged pup
Made me smile after weeks.
His wet nose touched my skin
When he kissed me,on my chin.
The gentle giant then,
Didn’t let me cry again,
For me the clock was stuck at ten.
The moment so precious then,
The moment so precious now,
Even the concept of time before
This timeless memory took a bow.
‘Time’, which was suppose to be human’s servant turned out to be human’s master. It dictates us everything, from when to wake up, to when to have a conversation. The concept of time, now, in the 21st century even has the capability to snatch away our happiness. But, there exists certain moments which can pause this, various poets have done that, hoping we all will be able to do it someday.
