Confused with the heading? Passion & Disorder – two contradictory words at the same time! How could an initiative and positive word like ‘Passion’ collaborate with a negatively sound word like ‘Disorder’? How could someone’s passion become a disorder? And, if it is a disorder, then what makes it even so passionate? Is it really that Fact that can make a person successful; or it is merely a Fantasy that can destroy your life? And many more questions in mind! And if someone is unable to find answers to these questions, they will end up landing in emotional dis-balance.
A multi-passionate person or an individual with multiple passions is the one who has strong desires and artistic curiosity in one or more fields and tries to achieve to excel in each one of them. Being multi-passionate gives an individual the freedom to live life to the fullest.
It gives that competitive edge to step ahead of the rest. But, does finding that one thing in life which will satisfy both psychologically and financially, is so easy? Probably, the answer is quite negative. Following multiple dreams in one life and making an attempt to complete every desire is always an adventurous task. But the cycle of responsibilities and duties of life constrain the potentialities of an individual.
This emotional trauma triggers the mind and creates that dash to initiate and explore in various dimensions. So, let’s move down the lane and unleash some basic lifestyle changes which will help an individual to balance the passion when they are immersed in zillion ideas and interests.
1. Plan
“Plan”, just a word with four letters can help you in keeping an eye in every four directions when executed in an optimum manner. Planning is paramount when you want to equate between expected and actual. Divide your long term goals into small and many short term objectives. Create deadlines and achieve them, while monitoring your progress.
This will help you in achieving building those small stairs towards your ultimate success. Further, when you keep on achieving, it will motivate you to move ahead and accept new challenges and opportunities.
2. Blend your duties with your passion
Following passion is good but performing duty is necessary. You cannot just blindly follow your passion, ignoring this fact that you are bound to perform some duties towards your personal and professional life. You need to maintain a healthy balance between what you are doing and what you want to do! For the same, prioritize your primaries and secondaries. For example, you are a software engineer, by profession, who deals in coding, but still finds happiness in writing. Though you cannot be an official blogger, or it may take some time to become so, at least you can try with basics of writing; you can start with diary writing, where you can pen down your own thoughts; or you can start writing in free blogging sites like ‘Quora’, where you can answer other’s question by expressing your opinion in a particular topic. This way, you will learn not only ‘How to write’ but also ‘What to write’ and ‘How to attract the audience’.
3. Don’t hesitate to seek help
A helping hand is always better than adventuring on unknown tracks. Let’s take the example from the above point, i.e., the example of writing. If you want to write just for your own convenience and at leisure time, you can try by yourself as there is no one to judge you. But if you are planning to have a career in ‘Documenting and Drafting’, then you need expertise in a specific field, and for the same, you might need some professional adviser or an expert who can help you in keeping your thoughts and insights in a particular niche.
Sometimes, there are millions of thoughts in mind but where to head can be a juggling act. A coach here can be a torchbearer who can inspire you and lead you towards a valued goal.
4. Wait for your time
“Rome was not built in a day” – Everything happens at their own pace; take your own time; don’t run behind only at achieving your goals, rather enjoy the journey of being Multi-passionate. Remember, not everyone can achieve everything, but everything can be achieved by someone who has the guts to move against the wind. But, this wind has destroyed many, and with the same intention, it came into your life. It is your will that will force the wind to accept the defeat before your courage.
So, take time to build your strength which can stand in front of every hurdle which comes on its path.
5. Embrace your talent
Don’t judge your capabilities via other’s opinions. We are living in a society where pulling legs and demotivating factors are 10 times stronger than encouragement and appreciation. Whenever you start something new, there are more people who can tell you the consequences rather than congratulating you. The hardest part of being different is the pressure to prove that the decision taken by you is worth your time and hard work. Some of these comments should be taken into consideration, so as to keep you motivated and trigger that aspiration to become better; but the majority of them are meant to demean you.
So, understand the difference between what is pulling you towards your goal, and what is pushing you towards defeat. Accept others opinions, not to ridicule yourself, but to praise your inner voice.
The Bottom Line
‘Every coin has two sides’, so is the case with being multi-passionate. It can be luck or can be a curse as well.
If you want your attitude of being “multi-passionate” to become a “fact”, then work hard for it; be that fire that can light every dark corner of your mind.
Or your passion will be a mere “fantasy”, which will eventually lead to a “disorder”.
“CHOICE IS YOURS”
