Meandering through the cloud
that occupies my mind
looking for that day called hope
one of a different kind.
Picking up the pieces
the nadir of yesterday
looking for that day called hope
that points a different way.
Musing through confusion
the kind that never stops
looking for that day called hope
you won’t get in the shops.
Finding sense or could it be
that ship has long since sailed
looking for that day called hope
to prove I have not failed.
Trying to understand pain
why it’s striking now
looking for that day called hope
that will show me how.
Finding joy in life
the kind that makes me smile
looking for that day called hope
that makes it worth the while.
